The 8U division (ages 7 and 8) is a non-competitive division where the primary goal is to instruct young player’s basic softball skills and plays, in a positive fun-filled environment. All girls are assigned to teams in this division. Players in this division will face coach pitching to encourage hitting development.  After the players get comfortable with hitting live pitching, the coach has the option of allowing a player may to pitch.  In this division, the girls will begin to follow the basic rules of the game, such as leaving the base when they are thrown or tagged out and changing sides after three outs are recorded.  A playoff system does not exist in the 8U division and the season ends at the conclusion of all scheduled games.
